What's included
An overhaul isn't a longer tune-up. It's the work that can only be done with the bike completely apart.
- Complete disassembly. Every component off the frame.
- Deep clean. Frame, drivetrain and components, degreased properly rather than wiped down.
- Bearing service. Hubs, bottom bracket and headset — cleaned, inspected, repacked and preloaded correctly.
- Full cable and housing replacement. New cables and housing throughout, which is where most of the “feels new again” comes from.
- Chain wear measurement. Measured against spec and replaced if it's stretched.
- Wheel truing and spoke tension balance. Not just straight — evenly tensioned.
- Full reassembly, torqued to spec.
- Road test before it leaves the shop.
What's not included. The overhaul price is labor. Worn parts — chain, cassette, brake pads, tires, bearings past service — are quoted separately, and we call you before replacing anything.
The signs
Does your bike need one?
The honest answer usually comes from the free diagnostic, but these are the signs:
- It's never had an overhaul, or it's been more than two years
- Bearings feel gritty, rough or loose — hubs, cranks or steering
- Shifting stays sluggish even after a tune-up
- It creaks under load and nobody's found the source
- It sat unused for a season or longer
- You bought it used and don't know its service history
- A big training block or event season is coming
Living in South Florida matters here. Heat, humidity and salt air push water past seals and into bearings faster than in a dry climate — bikes here need bearing service sooner than the manual suggests.

How much does a bike overhaul cost?
The overhaul is a flat labor price that covers the complete tear-down, bearing service, new cables and the rebuild. The diagnostic is free and we confirm the exact price with you before any work starts — book it or message us and we'll tell you straight away.
How long does an overhaul take?
Two to three days. Bearings need to be cleaned, repacked and set properly, and cables need to settle before the final adjustment. Rushing it defeats the purpose.
Does my bike need an overhaul or just a tune-up?
If your bike has never had an overhaul, or it's been more than two years, it needs the overhaul. Gritty or rough-feeling bearings, sluggish shifting that a tune-up doesn't fix, and creaking under load are the usual signs. If it's mostly running well and just needs dialing in, a tune-up is enough. The free diagnostic tells you which one it is.
What if you find worn parts during the overhaul?
We call you before replacing anything. The overhaul price covers labor; parts are quoted separately and you approve them first.
Is an overhaul worth it on an older bike?
Usually yes. A well-built frame with serviced bearings and fresh cables rides like a much newer bike, at a fraction of what a replacement costs. We'll tell you honestly during the diagnostic if it isn't worth it.
Do you overhaul e-bikes?
We do the full mechanical overhaul — drivetrain, brakes, wheels, bearings and cables. Motor and battery diagnostics depend on the system; ask us about yours.
